Electrode belts for soil survey – 0.1m electrode separation
Electrode belts for soil survey – 0.1m electrode separation
- Price: Price on application
Originally used with the Lund Resistivity Meter manual electrode separation breakout box, these rubber belts resembling road spikes are pressed into the ground by stepping on them. Each electrode is 0.1m from the next and is hollow but pointed so a pressure sprayer can be used to irrigate down through them all if ground contact is not adequate.
The belts could, and now should, be adapted to work with Lippmann ActEle16 switchboxes and Geotest software. An issue with them is that the AWG28 ribbon cable wires tend to snap at the electrodes – this issue needs addressing before any new attempt to use these electrode belts. Recommended use is time lapse rootzone imaging over periods of hours to weeks – any longer and a direct burial cable will be more suitable. Any shorter and our Wombat system will be more practical.
