HERBI-USV is typically operated using a handheld tablet computer with Android operating system running a windows remote desktop client. This requires a modem to be installed inside HERBI and a WiFi antenna attached through the waterproof enclosure wall. Hotspot software on the computer alone generally is problematic and a full external WiFi router is preferred. There is conflict between WiFi transmission and GNSS data acquisition that has to be managed by antennae separation and orientation.
