40m submarine streamer – polyurethane sheath

40m submarine streamer – polyurethane sheath

  • Price: Price on application

These 11 electrode streamers have completed thousands of kilometres of irrigation channel and water reservoir survey reliably, passing through hundreds of regulators on the way. Receiver electrodes are exponentially staggered around two transmitter electrodes at the array centre, spaced 4m apart. They are extremely durable provided that electrical tape wrapped around wear points is occasionally replaced.

These streamers provide decimetre resolution at the waterbody bed, with 8 layers being resolved down to 6m below the bed, regardless of water depth above the streamer. The only limitation is ability to keep the streamer transmitter electrodes, at the centre of the streamer, on the bed in deeper water and this is usually achieved by attaching a 10kg weight on a chain to the 6m leader on the streamer if operating in water deeper than 3m deep.

Two persons pulling HERBI by ropes along irrigation canals readily drag this streamer. Due to springback, paddling the streamer is not practical. A 2hp outboard motor is sufficient to drag it, or if the 10kg weight is added, then 3.5hp.
