Stock 7A.hr 12.8V LiFePO4 batteries come with little tabs which are a short hazard – just drop against something metal and bang – lots of things melt and there is fire if the BMS does not trigger. For carriage as hand luggage on aircraft these tabs must be protected. We do this by adding a mini-Anderson connector and protective plate which gets held on simply by a decal. Strain relief in the plate results in ability to pick the battery up by the connector.
