1st generation preamp box

The 1st generation Wallaby preamp boxes on the core did not have receiver cable connectors – rather the cable was hard fixed through 1 inch conduit right out along the drawbar. This was not good for diagnostics via cable substitution. Pre-amps inside the box were foam packed and could move around in relation with ribbon cable causing great system response instability as ribbon cable came near inductors – each time the lid was opened the ribbon cable would reseat in a different place giving a different system response – far from ideal.
