Wallaby boom retraction rigging
Wallaby boom retraction rigging

A system of 4mm ropes and pulleys can be fixed to Wallaby for remote retraction of both the front and rear side booms. This is useful on forest tracks, where booms are frequently retracted and re-released in clearer wider openings along the tracks to take a reading. It is also useful when surveying with Wallaby on trafficked roads – in this situation the rigging can be connected to a motorized winch.
Rigging retracts booms to core width pulling inwards to kite pulleys then all four ropes extend out along the drawbar to the towing vehicle. Front boom rigging is typically left on Wallaby at all times as it doubles as an easy way to tie back booms when floating Wallaby but rear boom retraction rigging is a nuisance when removing rear booms for floating Wallaby and is normally removed if not being used.
