Critical to maintaining precision mutual inductance nulling between the transmitter and receiver loops on Wallaby are two precision taught restraints that oppose the forward force of the elastic attached to the front booms. Without these precision restraints the whole system becomes useless!

When Wallaby is impacted by driving booms into tree branches, the front booms retract then spring forward again until the precision restraints become taught but no more.
