Electric tractor handlebars and controls

The electric tractor can be controlled using handlebar controls however it is hard to control tractor torque using the handlebars. Addition of a jockey wheel and batteries in front of the tractor helps but the small diameter of the jockey wheel can be limiting in rough terrain. If the jockey wheel is placed behind the tractor then all weight goes onto it when negotiating difficult terrain, lifting weight off the drive wheels and getting the tractor bogged – this is not ideal and should be avoided.
Handlebars are typically positioned out the side of the tractor at about 45 degrees when towing Wallaroo. Steering is via a joystick unless overridden by skid-steer inducing forces on the handlebars and for this they must be fixed into position using a pin.
