The NSW FPH requirements for pressure sensor installation, as of 2023 were not considered reasonable by CSV installers. NRAR require ability to access and inspect sensors without getting in the water so simple solutions like the Yabbie system have been rejected. We have come up with a semi-trenched PVC conduit system with pulleys on a concrete pad at the sensor end and a pit at the top end into which the conduit enters. NRAR can pull the sensor up using the pulleys then return it. The procedure has been submitted to NSW Water for formal approval. It does not require the burdensome installation of the previous official method and our installation can get metering of reservoirs without walkways operational while the reservoir is still not completely empty.
